I recently got a job without auditioning for it! It was just handed to me on a silver platter. A juicy, lead role in an indie film! No audition required!
How did I manage to pull off such an amazing feat, you ask? Two words: repeat business.
I’m a businessman at heart, and if you know anything about business, you’d know that your best business is repeat business. Your best customers are repeat customers.

That’s because, repeat customers will do far, far more business with you than new customers. They will spend money on your products with less inhibition, because they’ve already used your products and services in the past.
They have developed what’s known in the business world as “brand loyalty”. They trust your product, have had a good experience with it, and are increasingly more willing to do business with you over your competitors.
When you do a great job for a film director or casting director, they remember, and they come back to you, over and over again.
Best of all, you don’t have to do any marketing to acquire them as a customer, since they are already a customer. They simply come back to you over and over again, ready to spend more and more money with your company.
The acting business works the same way. When you do a great job for a film director or casting director, they remember, and they come back to you, over and over again.
Each time they return, they require less, if any auditions, while offering larger and larger roles. As their trust in you grows, so too, does the amount of opportunity they offer you.
Repeat business from repeat customers!
In other words:
Today: you’re busting your butt, doing endless auditions.
Tomorrow: you’re getting straight offers – no audition necessary – based on your previous good work.

I am currently diving into my new starring role. As a matter of fact, I can barely finish this article because I need to get back to it. I’ve got a lot of lines to learn!
So, let me leave you with one final thought: hard work does pay, eventually.
