I walked into every room as a new actor, and I demanded opportunities.

These are the words that every actor must live by, because the business is so competitive. These are the words that Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra, used to propel her acting career forward, in the US.

  • When she arrived in the United States, Chopra was already a beauty queen and a successful Bollywood actress in her native India.

It took me a long time to forgive myself for making mistakes, having failures. Because this business is tough.

Yet, as she told NDTV in an interview, that early fame did not carry over to the US entertainment scene. She also had the additional burden of carving out a niche in an industry with few successful Indian actresses.

“When I went to the US and started working, it was very hard for people to take me seriously.”

  • Chopra would have to earn her place in Hollywood like every other actor. That required remaining resilient through repeated failures.

“I was a kid when I started acting. I failed. I said the wrong thing sometimes. I’ve done the wrong thing sometimes. I dusted myself off and tried again,” Chopra intimidated, in an interview with Vanity Fair.

I said the wrong thing sometimes. I’ve done the wrong thing sometimes. I dusted myself off and tried again.

Priyanka Chopra’s resilience and dedication would eventually pay off when she landed her signature role, playing Alex Parrish on the ABC television show, Quantico (2015-2018).

Chopra built on that success with roles in the satirical drama, The White Tiger (2021) and the science fiction franchise, The Matrix Resurrections (2021).
