He hails from a family with deep roots in the entertainment industry; he is the nephew of renowned filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. Despite his prestigious family background, Nicolas Cage carved out a unique and independent career in Hollywood.

Cage initially took on his famous last name, “Cage,” as a nod to the comic book character Luke Cage. He began his acting career with small roles in television and film during the early 1980s, but it was in the mid-’80s when he started gaining recognition with memorable performances in movies such as “Valley Girl” (1983) and “Rumble Fish” (1983).

Known for his intense performances and chameleon-like ability to transform into a wide array of characters, Cage has been a part of various genres, including action films like “Con Air” (1997) and “Face/Off” (1997), as well as more experimental and offbeat projects like “Being John Malkovich” (1999).

Throughout his career, Nicolas Cage has also delved into producing and directing. He’s produced several films and directed the movie “Sonny” (2002).
