Who Are the Actors in Michelob Commercials?

The main actors in recent Michelob ULTRA commercials include Kurt Russell, Lewis Pullman, Willem Dafoe, Catherine O’Hara and Jason Sudeikis. Michelob ULTRA has also used major athletes such as Chloe Kim, T.J. Oshie, Lionel Messi, Serena Williams, Peyton Manning, Jimmy Butler, Alex Morgan, Brooks Koepka, Nneka Ogwumike, Randy Moss, Sabrina Ionescu and Ryan Crouser.

Michelob ULTRA’s advertising strategy is built around the idea that competition, fun and social connection can exist together. That is why the brand often casts actors who can bring comedy or cinematic personality, along with athletes who bring credibility in sports.

For viewers asking, “Who is the actor in the Michelob commercial?” the answer depends on the specific ad. In the 2026 Super Bowl commercial, the biggest names are Kurt Russell and Lewis Pullman. In the 2025 pickleball-themed commercial, the biggest names are Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara.

Kurt Russell in the 2026 Michelob ULTRA Commercial

Kurt Russell stars in Michelob ULTRA’s 2026 Super Bowl commercial, “The ULTRA Instructor.” In the spot, Russell plays a mysterious mentor figure who trains a skier played by Lewis Pullman. The commercial uses snow, competition, coaching and cinematic energy to connect Michelob ULTRA with the spirit of winter sports.

Russell is a smart casting choice because he brings rugged movie-star authority. He has the screen presence of someone who can play a coach, a legend or a mysterious stranger without needing much explanation. The commercial leans into that persona, making him feel like the perfect guide for a sports-themed Super Bowl ad.

The commercial also connects Michelob ULTRA to the Winter Olympics atmosphere by featuring Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim and former NHL star T.J. Oshie. That gives the spot a mix of Hollywood, sports and competition.

Lewis Pullman, Chloe Kim and T.J. Oshie

Lewis Pullman appears opposite Kurt Russell in “The ULTRA Instructor.” Pullman plays the younger competitor being trained, which creates a mentor-student dynamic. That relationship is central to the commercial’s story.

Chloe Kim brings real Olympic credibility to the campaign. As a famous snowboarder, she fits naturally into the winter-sports setting. Her presence helps the ad feel connected to genuine athletic excellence rather than just movie-style fantasy.

T.J. Oshie adds another sports layer. As a former NHL player associated with clutch Olympic moments, he supports the commercial’s competitive theme. Together, Russell, Pullman, Kim and Oshie give the ad a strong mix of performance, celebrity and athletic credibility.

Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara in Michelob ULTRA Ads

In 2025, Michelob ULTRA released a memorable Super Bowl commercial featuring Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara as pickleball hustlers. The casting worked because both actors can play comedy with total seriousness. Dafoe brings intensity, while O’Hara brings sharp timing and eccentric charm.

The spot also featured athletes including Randy Moss, Sabrina Ionescu and Ryan Crouser. That mix of actors and athletes gave the campaign a playful sports-bar feeling, where pickleball became the setting for competition, comedy and celebrity surprise.

Dafoe and O’Hara were especially effective because they made the absurd premise feel believable. The joke was not simply that famous actors were playing pickleball. The joke was that they played the game like veteran hustlers who knew exactly how to win.

Other Famous Michelob ULTRA Commercial Stars

Michelob ULTRA has built a long list of recognizable commercial faces. Lionel Messi appeared in a major beach and soccer-themed campaign that connected the brand to global sports culture. Jason Sudeikis, known for Ted Lasso, also appeared in Michelob ULTRA advertising, bringing comedy and soccer-related appeal.

Serena Williams, Peyton Manning, Jimmy Butler, Alex Morgan, Brooks Koepka and Nneka Ogwumike have also appeared in Michelob ULTRA’s Super Bowl and sports-themed campaigns. These names help the brand speak to multiple fan bases, including tennis, football, basketball, soccer and golf audiences.

This is one reason Michelob ULTRA commercials often feel bigger than standard beer ads. The brand does not just sell a drink; it builds a world around sports, fun, social competition and celebrity culture.

Acting Breakdown

Kurt Russell’s performance in the Michelob ULTRA 2026 commercial works because he brings calm authority. He does not need to overplay the coach role. His voice, posture and screen history already communicate experience and toughness.

Lewis Pullman gives the spot a younger, more vulnerable energy. His role depends on reacting to Russell’s instruction and making the training journey feel playful. Chloe Kim and T.J. Oshie add authenticity because they are real athletes, not actors pretending to understand competition.

In the earlier pickleball commercial, Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara succeed through comic contrast. Dafoe’s intensity and O’Hara’s sly confidence make them believable as unlikely sports hustlers. That is the strength of Michelob ULTRA casting: the brand uses performers who can make a playful sports premise feel memorable.
